For airport fire departments and others responsible for responding to
aviation accidents, the future growth of aviation will have a significant
impact in ARFF training capabilities. A major aircraft incident can involve
many facets of the modern fire services including mass casualty, hazmat,
firefighting, and extrication, all at the same time. Working in this
environment requires training in all of these disciplines, not just a yearly
live fire drill.
At the Chennault International Airport Authority, we utilize a full-size
DC-8 capable of accommodating multiple realistic and safe fire rescue
scenarios for your staff training. The DC-8 is modified with propane
burners, smoke generators, and heavy bags to simulate extrication. If your
future ARFF training requires more than just a live fire drill, please
contact us at ciaa@chennault.org and schedule your training. Pricing is
subject to the number of staff trained and the number of days required for
the trainer.
